This is a video from me, DarkspinesSonic AKA Da1AndOnlySonic, showing a speed run of the boss Egg Dragoon in Sonic Unleashed for the ps3. Now normally I don’t upload a video of a speed run of the same level/boss more than once, but this time I’m making an exception. This shows a speed run of my getting sub 1 minute against Egg Dragoon…in-game time. This was made possible by werehog’s earthshaker combo. When werehog pounds the ground on final time, -everything- slows down, including the game timer, enemies, and even bosses. With this boss, by initiating the QTE while everything is slow-motion, the game timer and even some animations continue to go in slow-motion, allowing for a much lower time than possible by normal means. This video also shows another technique I found while experimenting with Egg Dragoon. By performing a diving bodypress after the first platform is destroyed, you will reach the second platform a bit faster than you would by normal means. The object is to do a tricky tornado uppercut just before the platform is destroyed, followed by a diving bodypress. The best method I’ve found for doing this is to go to the location I go to in the video (be sure that you are facing away from Egg Dragoon) and keep your guard up. While continuing to guard throughout the duration of the sequence that takes place, hold forward (up if you are following what I said) on the analog stick and keep pressing triangle (or Y if you are playing on the 360). I made it myself. Then comes the speed run. The speed run was requested by Muzozavr, so you can partially thank him for this. The audio may get a little off-sync because of YouTube, Movie Maker, or a random recording error. Anyways, the speed run is 0:42 seconds. At the end I BRAG with my standard victory music I use for completing challenges (Sonic Adventure DX stage complete). Also, “PUWN” is a phrase I invented and that I use. And finnaly, the siley! =) ——————————————————————– 2) How the speed run was executed First of all, if you’re wondering how I was able to spin-dash so fast, I mashed all 3 jump buttons at the same time giving my mashing speed a x3 bonus. The beginning is standard, the jump I did must be executed with perfect timing, or you’ll some frames. Mecha Sonic was easy. The first 4 hits I had to spin dash into him.
